Gerald Randolph Anderson, Jr. was born to Gerald Randy Anderson, Sr. an American instructor in the Philippine Navy who travels back and forth to U.S. and Zambales, and Evangeline Opsima, a Filipina from General Santos City. Gerald also has a younger brother, Kenneth, and two older sisters from his mother's first marriage, Jen and Darlin. When he was three years old, he and his family moved to San Antonio, Texas . Finally, at 14 years of age, his family moved back to General Santos.
